Why I’m celebrating Dominion DMS’ incredible company culture
May 20 th is International Human Resources Day, a day that always has me reflect on why I do what I do. There’s an old misconception that HR is just the “rules department”, but to me, HR is the heartbeat of a company. It’s about building a work environment where people feel supported, seen and empowered to thrive.
I’ve been with Dominion a little over three years, and I’ve never felt more at home in a workplace. I keep a smile on my face not because I have to, but because it’s easy! The energy here is just that…positive. The trust and rapport we share is real and contagious!
What makes Dominion DMS special?

Our culture is rooted in growth. We are team players driven to be the best-of-the-best. That drive starts at the very top with our President, Sharon Kitzman. She leads with passion, purpose and a determination that pulls everyone forward. From day one, I knew I wanted to be part of her team. She inspires us to lead, to grow and to find meaning in our work. If you ever have the opportunity to meet her, I’m certain she’ll make the same impression on you.
We work as one.
Even with team members across the country, we operate as a tight-knit group. We share openly, stay in sync and genuinely care about each other’s success. I may be in HR, but I could tell you exactly what our Product Team is working on, because we’re that well integrated. That kind of visibility creates shared learning and broadens our perspectives.
We show up for our communities.
Dominion DMS gives us dedicated time to volunteer, and it’s one of my favorite things about working here. One memory that always sticks with me… teaming up with half a dozen colleagues to buy school supplies and snacks for families in need. (Shoutout to the cashier who scanned 400+ items with a smile!) Back at the office, we turned it into an assembly line, packed it all up, and delivered it to our local Ronald McDonald House. It was meaningful and a total team effort.
