Today:
Parts can arrive in multiple shipments. A Shipper Notice is not sent until the last part has been shipped. 97% of the time, orders are shipped ‘complete’ – no issues! But in the roughly 3% of the time that doesn’t happen, orders arrive with no packing slip until the next day, causing a trickle effect of dealership inefficiencies. Parts departments can pull packing slip data from Ford on demand, but must proactively access another database to do so. And any shortages tracked in the DMS, must be reconciled after the final packing slip is received.
Going forward:
Through this new Ford & VUE DMS integration, Dealers will receive an ASN with every shipment from each ship point (HVC/HCC, NPD, etc.) for all shipments, including partial orders. Your team can scan individual parts and confirm receipt. Items and quantities received will accumulate by shipper # / DOR number.
